Copy m4a to Iphone?

I have a PC running MacOS 12.2.1 and created an audio file using QuickTime. I want to copy it to my wife's Iphone 11. In looking at the article, I do not see an easy answer. Here's the link: transfer .m4a file to iPhone from compute… - Apple Community

It says I need to sync. The file is already in Iphone format. Can't I just air drop it?

Hi perfectreign,

We see you want to send a file from a Mac to an iPhone without using syncing. Generally speaking, you should be able to do that using AirDrop: How to use AirDrop on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You mentioned you're getting an alert that you need to sync it. When is that coming up? When you use AirDrop with an audio file, you may need to try playing it using an app like Voice Memos. To use it in the Music app, that's when you would likely need to sync it instead.

Best wishes.
