Iphone12 issue

Checked my phone randomly and it said attempting to recover data, few minutes later everything looked normal but I had no service and no wifi. Went home and connected to a MacBook to update and it did but still had same issue. Did a phone reset and same issue, finally did a factory reset and now the phone won’t sync with the MacBook and I can only choose my language then my country or region. Is going to Apple my only option at this point?
