New Macbook under remote management

Hi - I have just bought a brand new boxed Macbook Air from Cheshire Macs. On starting it up I find it is under remote management from a well-known London art gallery (closed at the moment). What is this about? Is it a stolen item? Thanks, Alex

Brand new? Not hardly ... new to you maybe.

Take it back. It was not setup properly such that the management was removed.

It could possible be stolen; you'd have to research that. More than likely, the seller just didn't properly prepare it for resale.
