There's several different Mag Safe options for Macs. The newest Mac charger has a separate USB-C to MagSafe 3 cable which can be replaced with a regular USB-C to USB-C cable if that's what you mean. If you find an adapter for theMagsafe tip, to return to USB-C connection it will probably work fine but seems a bit unnecessary.

The Mag Safe 1 and 2 options come in various power outputs and the lower ones may not have enough power to correctly charge a 2020 MacBook Pro. They won't damage the computer but will likely charge it slower than the one that came with the MacBook Pro.
