Can I use 61W Adapter with iPhone 13 for regular use?

I own a 61W power adapter that came with MacBook pro M1 2020 model. I recently bought an iPhone 13. Can I use the 61W adapter with iPhone 13 for charging it everyday? My problem is not with fast charging, it does fast charge and at the same pace as other compatible apple fast chargers.

My issue is with the heat dissipated from the iPhone. Does 61W adapter heats it more than the 20W adapter? I have not used 20W adapter but 61W adapter produced enough heat that I could feel the heat and it was uncomfortable to use knowing the new phone is heating up and that is a problem in long run.

Brian, that isn’t the reason they used 5w power adaptors in the beginning, the battery was smaller and not much else was available. As time went on they kept including them because they were cheaper and sold higher watt chargers if you wanted to charge faster. They were criticized by many for continuing to provide the 5W. Eventually they did include a 10W prior to not including one.

Apple now lists the iPhine as compatible with all of their power adapters.
