Sim not supported

I have an iPhone bought with no restrictions (not carrier locked), I got a sim from safelink wireless (free government SIM card-phone plan) and it seems now it says SIM locked. Did this government SIM card lock my phone in with them? Because it’s impossible to get ahold of anyone there that understands what I’m saying. The sim wasn’t working from the jump it said I had no minutes so I cancelled that one and got a different government sim and now it’s saying sim locked. How can I get my phone unlocked because they’re no help at all? Thanks :)

OK. SIM locked is different from an unsupported SIM message.

Contact your Carrier for the SIM PIN / PUK code.

The phone is not locked, the SIM is.

Where, EXACTLY, did you buy it?

In the US, the ONLY place you can purchase an unlocked iPhone is directly from apple.

If you purchased it from another retailer (Best Buy, target, etc.) it will lock to the first carrier used.

Only the carrier it is locked to can unlock it.

I bought it from Apple and used it originally for straight talk… it still said no sim restrictions. Now that I used a sim from safelink, it says sim locked. I tried to take the safelink sim out and put a different one in (diff company) because that wasn’t working

This is with the safelink SIM card in… it’s under trac drone wireless and under carrier lock it says sim lock. It never said that before I put the safelink sim in. It never even worked I couldn’t make any calls or anything and I can’t get anyone on the phone

Also, when I put the new SIM card in when activating it, it did say sim not supported
