Run Shortcuts when phone is locked

Hi,

I have set an Automation on my phone to turn WiFi on when I arrive home, however when I get home and my phone is locked it requires me to unlock and tap the notification to run.

There is no option to Turn on/off “Ask before running” in the shortcuts app like there is on other automations.

Is it possible to turn it on without unlocking my phone.

I work in a safety critical environment, and my iPhone and Apple watch have to be off and in my bag while on duty. Each text message received during work is a $10k personal fine, so this is an important question to me. Why cant iOS Shortcuts disable Wi-Fi I’m running the latest iOS 14 and have been trying to author a Shortcut with a geolocation trigger that disables my Wi-Fi when I arrive at the office. I found this article, below, which outlines the process; however, what I find is I get a push notification, which indicate the trigger has occurred, but my Wi-Fi is not disabled. https://mashtips.com/auto-turn-off-iphone-wifi-when-you-away-home/ I’ve reviewed the Shortcuts app settings, thinking there are permissions I need to grant, with nothing identifiable. I managed to capture a screenshot while the push notification triggered (and I was authoring this post). I then navigate to the Wi-Fi settings to find it is still enabled.

Turning off Wifi Assist setting is not saved I own a iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 13.4.1 When I turn off Wifi Assist, go back and return to the setting again it is enabled again! How to resolve this?

Hey t13g,

Normally, your iPhone will reconnect to your Home Wi-Fi network when it comes within range. To set up a Shortcut automation that triggers something to happen when you arrive at a specific location, follow this guide: Create a new personal automation in Shortcuts on iPhone or iPad
