My mac won’t accept my Comcast email acct

I’m trying to add my Comcast email on my Mac but I keep getting “unable to verity account name or password” and I’m typing both correctly.

what should I do?

10 core i9 iMac- Catalina, comcast email won't accept my correct password. After reading the prior questions and responses on this subject there still has been no clear or even suggested fix. So after following all of the various suggestions, ie. restart, log out, delete accounts, etc. there doesn't seem to be any clear means to create an email account for comcast mail, and yes I verified that my password works by logging in to my email using safari. No problems with my email account in high sierra BTW. Please help.

Email "This account already exists" Hi...I transferred all my files from an old iMac to a newer one yesterday. My one email account can't seem to connect to my internet service provider, which my main email. It shows my correct email but it keeps asking for my password. When I enter the password it say's "This account already exists". I also went to System Preferences>Internet Accounts and the password field is always empty. When I attempt to enter the password I get the same error box. I have attached a few screenshots of what I am seeing...Thanks

Keep trying. My experience with Comcast and this very problem has led me to abandon their email except for official notices from them.

Periodically, their server(s) are just not available. It's been that way for years as far as I can tell. S00ner or later the server will come available, but that was not good enough for me.
