Check the range of the mobile network, see this Apple article: If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad

Fix for me:

Settings -> Wifi -> i (next to the network name) -> Configure DNS -> Manual

* Remove router's ip (192.168.0.1 in my case)

* Added Google's DNS server: 8.8.8.8

VPN was not the issue (perhaps it is for some). After the iOS update, my phone couldn't use my router for DNS (other devices and computers work w/o any issues). This appears to be an Apple incompatibility introduced w/ the last update.

You may want to replace 8.8.8.8 with your ISP's DNS servers.

Nope, not using VPN (had never installed/used that on this iPhone). Also, there is no firewall. WiFi Internet works seamlessly with my laptops.

This was the same for my iPhone 12 Pro, my daughter's, and my AppleTV (which also updated to 15.4.1). I solved this by doing the following:

Settings -> Wifi -> i (next to the network name) -> Configure DNS -> Manual

* Remove router's ip (192.168.0.1 in my case)

* Added Google's DNS server: 8.8.8.8

My MBP M1 Max did not need to do this. Clearly an iOS change broke something.

Since ios 15.4.1 and now 15.5 the issue still happens. Iphone 12 pro max and an iphone 13 pro max, but iphone se 2020 is ok.

The problem is the wifi system of the router (i think the Airtime Fairness technology ( it managers devices without connection —-> example : iphone blocked without using)

The issue is not present on old routers.

I start having problem with my network settings too once iOS was updated to 15.4.1. It keeps saying no connection on wifi yet I cannot switch off the wifi function itself, and will have to resort in restarting the phone every single time. My friend has the same exact issues even with different iPhone series but same iOS.

Issue solved : buy a Huawei router witch wifi6, wait for some hours (my case more than one day) and the issue disappears, no more disconnections (more than a week without problems and wifi 6 is highly recommended)

Possible cause : 1) low and unstable wifi potencial from your internet (ISP). iPhone PRO MAXs have something disconnects from lower signal (when the iPhone is blocked essentially).

2) Apple try to load automatically a WIFI spot you recorded from another site (example your parents' home) and what try to connect the wifi password is your wifi password (it's the other). I know you consider me mad, but I noticed that wifi password in my IMAC, MacBook Pro , and iPhones, connects automatically without my effort (from the iCloud maybe) when wifi password is sharing between the devices.

So, you'd better erase all your wifi's password saved, connect new Huawei or Linksys router and voila.

NOTE : issue for me is since ios15.4 (march 2022) on iPhone 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max.
