How best to copy DVD to USB drive?
I'm sorry. Your question makes no sense. If you have an external DVD player, you simply plug it in to an available USB port on the computer. Many units will not run if connected to a non powered USB bridge, however. It the issue is something else, then please click on the link below and read the information there so you can respond with information we can respond to.

if you are asking on how to transfer a video DVD to an USB flash drive, that is something i would use HandBrake to accomplish. you can transfer the video to your mac's local drive and then move it to the USB flash drive in the same manner as moving any other file. but if it is a copyright protected video, HandBrake will see that and the saving of the DVD will be scrambled.
Ron, what I'm talking about and admittedly may not have been all that clear, is that I want to take a non-commercial DVD and place its contents, audio and video TS, on a flash drive.

HandBrake can do that, and it's free.
i always save the HandBrake files to my local drive first. but looking at HandBrake's options, it appears that saving directly to the USB flash drive should be possible.
