Mid2014 Macbook pro retina 4K monitor that have USB-C port

I am using a Mid2014 Macbook pro retina 15" which have thunderbolt2 ports. I have a 4K monitor that has USB-C port. Can I use the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter and Apple Thunderbolt Cable to connect my monitor and my MacBook pro?

No, "The Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter connects a Mac that has a Thunderbolt 3 port to a device that uses a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 cable." Your Mac has a Thunderbolt 2 port....
