No warning foolishness Touch and no touch

I just bought an I phone 13 from an iphone 6s. I have notes that are critical locked behind a Touch ID. Who knew that important tech would be missing in a phone 7 generations later?

When I try to use notes it asks for a NON_EXISTENT password. Since the password is NON_EXISTENT I cannot enter it. I need to use my fingerprint.

In lieu of fingerprint I SHOULD be able to use biometrics (FACE ID) but the app apparently did not transfer that function from Touch ID to Face ID (like it clearly should if touch id is no longer present)

I STILL need to get to the information in those many many notes. How do I do it?

{ Also THIS FORUM would not allow me to see in context the answer to a similar question. So THIS FORUM needs to have clearer means to accessing information as well. THIS FORUM is asking me what device this question is about. Since it's CLEARLY above BOTH the iphone 6s and the 13 ... what should I say? }

iPhone 13, iOS 15

The password DOES exist. Touch ID and Face ID are supplemental to the password you set to encrypt the notes.

You can not use Touch ID or Face ID to open encrypted notes unless you have already set a password.

If you can not remember the password, the notes are completely unreadable.
