Use Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support to check the health of the drive that holds your media and run repairs if needed.

See Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer - Apple Support and see if you are able to sync a single playlist containing just one or two albums. Assuming that would you can try syncing additional lists rather than trying to sync the entire library in one go.
