Just got the apple 13 iphone. Latest upgrade installed in the store. Can't open certain attachments for email. Says no preview available. Help!

What happens when you try to open these files? Are you seeing any errors or messages on the screen? If you go to Settings>Mail>Privacy Protection, do you have any settings there turned on?
What kind of attachments?
Okay, so you are not using the native Mail app on the iPhone, you are using AOL's mail app? If that is the case, then you need to contact AOL Support for assistance with their app.

Also won’t open an old xlsx file. Haven’t tried excel or word files. Just got the phone

I don't have a "mail" setting. Just the aol app. I just sent myself recent excel file and word doc and neither will open

You can, however AOL Mail requires some additional password settings for that. I would still recommend that you contact AOL about those, since I'm not familiar with them, but they should be able to respond to both questions for you, the app problem as well as app specific passwords for their mail using the iPhone. I used to have a link for information about that. I should be able to located it later if needed and AOL is unable to answer that question.
Yes using the aol app. Is it possible to switch to the native mail app instead of the aol app? Might that help?
