Hub or docking station for 2018 Lightning-connector iPad Pro 12.9” 2nd generation

Hello. I need a solution for connecting three different functions simultaneously to my lightning-connector 2018 2nd generation MacBook Pro 12.9 inch:

1) Gigabit Ethernet connection

2) Audio stereo out from iPad to recording studio mixing console. This needs to be an audio phone jack (either 3.5mm or 1/4” into recording console).

3) Simultaneous charging capability to retain continuous charging and power to the lightning-connector iPad Pro.

Do you provide at least partial capability for this? Can you adapters be daisy-chained to other adapters to provide more connections ? I need three connections for my lightning1connector iPad to other devices plus one to connect to iPad via its lightning port.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Lightning has limited I/O capabilities compared to USB-C (hence the reason Apple started moving the more powerful and newer devices to that standard). Trying to do 1GbE with audio and charging is likely not possible. An extra pair of pins is required for 1GbE which would be used by audio. Unfortunately, you're trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. If you do manage to make it work, there will be significant sacrifices in quality (either on the dongle hardware, audio quality, or ethernet speed).

Thanks DoTech for your reply. A complication is that because of the DAW’s (digital audio workstations) I’m using (Avid ProTools and Mark of the Unicorn Digital Performer) plus East West digital sound files, I need my iPad Pro to connect via gigabit Ethernet + audio out to my mixing console + charging all at the same time on this slightly antiquated Lightning-connector iPad Pro. I’d like to NOT have to trade-in since I just purchased a new high-end MBP M1 Max. I can find separately a Lightning gigabit Ethernet adapter, a separate 3.5mm audio adapter and a separate charger but cannot find an adapter enabling all three functions at once. I’d even be willing to try a Lightning “triple-dongle” allowing me to connect a GigE, audio cable & charger all at the same time but I can’t seem to find that. Any combination of various adapters might meet my requirements but I keep running into brick walls. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated (short of buying a new USB-C iPad Pro). “Lightning-connected adapters” is the key here. Thanks in advance, everyone.

Thanks Celliott147 for your reply & clarification. Yes, my iPad Pro is a 2nd generation 2017 device. My confusion was that although I purchased it in 2018, it’s a 2017 device. I appreciate your suggestion re: Painicia Lightning to Ethernet Adapter. However, 1) it only supports 100Mbps Ethernet & 2) it doesn’t have a standard audio jack (3.5mm-although I suppose I could look for a Lightning-to-3.5mm cable) and finally, 3) it doesn’t have a third Lightning port for charging. The issue also seems to be that for other than iPhones, Lightning-connected adapters have gone the way of FireWire and other antiquated proprietary connection technologies (I say “antiquated” not as a criticism, but as a reality that peripheral Lightning-connected multi-port hubs & docks are not being manufactured. I would not be surprised to eventually see new iPhones with USB-C connectors (or a “micro” USC-C connector) in the future).

Hello again, Dotec,

Your suggestion of the Anker PowerExpand 6-in-1 hub is on the right track except it connects to a host via USB-C rather than via Lightning connector. What about this possibility:

1) Is there a USB-C-to-Lightning adapter to connect to the host end built-in cable of the Anker hub you’ve suggested? I’m not sure Lightning can be adapted to any type of USB for anything other than charging. But if it could, would I be able to charge the iPad Pro, connect to GigE and connect an audio out cable, all at the same time? Thanks in advance.
