Thanks Celliott147 for your reply & clarification. Yes, my iPad Pro is a 2nd generation 2017 device. My confusion was that although I purchased it in 2018, it’s a 2017 device. I appreciate your suggestion re: Painicia Lightning to Ethernet Adapter. However, 1) it only supports 100Mbps Ethernet & 2) it doesn’t have a standard audio jack (3.5mm-although I suppose I could look for a Lightning-to-3.5mm cable) and finally, 3) it doesn’t have a third Lightning port for charging. The issue also seems to be that for other than iPhones, Lightning-connected adapters have gone the way of FireWire and other antiquated proprietary connection technologies (I say “antiquated” not as a criticism, but as a reality that peripheral Lightning-connected multi-port hubs & docks are not being manufactured. I would not be surprised to eventually see new iPhones with USB-C connectors (or a “micro” USC-C connector) in the future).
A complication is that because of the DAW’s (digital audio workstations) I’m using in my studio (Avid ProTools and Mark of the Unicorn Digital Performer) plus East West digital sound files, I need my iPad Pro to connect via gigabit Ethernet + audio out to my mixing console + charging all at the same time on this slightly antiquated Lightning-connector iPad Pro. I’d like to NOT have to trade-in since I just purchased a new high-end MBP M1 Max. Separately, I can find a Lightning gigabit Ethernet adapter, a separate 3.5mm audio adapter and a separate charger but cannot find an adapter enabling all three functions at once. I’d even be willing to try a Lightning “triple-dongle” allowing me to connect a GigE, audio cable & charger all at the same time but I can’t seem to find that. Any combination of various adapters might meet my requirements but I keep running into brick walls. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated (short of buying a new USB-C iPad Pro). “Lightning-connected adapters” is the key here. Thanks in advance, everyone.
