Unstable HDR on external monitor

Hi everyone!

I recently bought a Philips’ Momentum 329M1RV with HDR to go along with my 2021 Macbook pro with an M1 Pro chip. When I connect my Macbook to this external monitor via USB-C, I can select HDR, but the the HDR option becomes unselected when I run my Mac in "clamshell mode" (i.e. close the lid). What is odd is that when I reopen the clamshell, the HDR option becomes reselected. The opposite is also true: when I select HDR in clamshell mode, the HDR option becomes deselected when the clamshell is open, but then is automatically reselected when the clamshell is closed again. I find this truly bizarre.

The HDR option is maintained when I switch which screen is the main screen when the lid is open.

The summary is that I would like the HDR option (and all other selections) on the external monitor to be maintained regardless whether or not my Macbook is in clamshell mode or not.

I have updated to the latest Mac operating system as of 2022-04-07.

Does anyone have any solutions to this problem?

Peace, love, and chemistry.
