I have a MacBook Pro 2011 with High Sierra My computer would no longer recognize my GDrive so I was told by Apple to get another. I got the ArmorATD hardrive but it still will not recognize hard drvie. Help?

Try something else in the USB ports to see if they're operating properly.
Have you download the lates update of high Sierra?
I see you got the other drive working. What did you do?
If two drives don't work, it sounds like an issue with the Mac. If it's only one drive now, and it's an old one, it's probably the drive. Can you see if it mounts on another computer, Mac or Windows? If it doesn't, there's your answer.
I did just try on another mac - no good - you are correct. Now I need to find a place that does data retrieval for G-Drives. I presently kept the two back ups in Time Machine - dumb question here..... when I backed the entire computer up on ArmorATD (took 5 hours), dis that automatically back up all that was on the old back up even though not plugged in? I assume all is in the mac? Or not? Many thanks in advance...
I have all updates with High Sierra. I did get the ArmorATD (new) to finally back up. I want to have two hard drive back ups and still can't get the GDrive to be recognized by my mac. I have lots of imp. data on it.
Don't really understand the question. The ArmorATD TM backup backed up your Mac at that point and will continue doing so moving forward, as long as it's connected and TM is turned on. It is completely independent of the GDrive.
Yes, both USB ports work with other items.......with my older G-Drive, my mac won't recognize it.
