I've updated and restarted phone and that option has totally disappeared.
Do I have to use an older Android that has a lower older different version of the app now?

Apple really needs to update their redemption instructions at How to redeem your Apple Gift Card or App Store & iTunes gift card - Apple Support coz the Android directions haven't worked in like over 6 months unless you had not updated the Apple Music on Android app in like forever

The workaround for this atm is on the website instead of the app Apple Music otherwise https://music.apple.com/includes/commerce/# or https://music.apple.com/includes/commerce/redeem/

Yeah it looks gone, probably app store payment rules.
But you can go onto music.apple.com and redeem a code there in Settings.
Apple Music on Android no longer has redeem code option?
