‘To play Apple Music songs on your iPod, turn on iCloud Music Library on your iPod’

iCloud Music Library is already turned on (Edit > Preferences > General) but some songs still won’t sync. How do I go about this?

Also, I received this iPod shuffle (4th gen) I think back in 2015. It was never opened and used until now. I am wondering why even after charging overnight, the indicator light is still solid orange. Could it be that the battery is damaged?

Hey Lutchada,

If you'r referring to an active Apple Music subscription and using iCloud Music Library with it, iPod shuffle is not compatible with those features.

You can sync songs that are physically owned or stored on your computer to your iPod shuffle, but the automated feature to keep your music library updated with iCloud Music Library won't be compatible.

As to the battery, if it's charged overnight but is still orange, it may mean there is an issue with the battery. Apple has discontinued support for the iPod shuffle, however Apple Authorized Service Providers in your area may still have options to inspect it.

To that end, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly for options from here.

Take care.
