(Null) At the end of the contact name.

A friend shared a contact number with me, as I have saved the number at the end of the person name (null) appears and this has never happened and I wanted to knw what it means. I have attached the screenshot.

Hello VictoriaDaisy2218,

Since this only happens with the one contact, and only when it is copied and pasted, most likely there is something in that data causing the issue.

Typically, "null" will appear when the device is looking for some data to fill in a field, but is not finding it. This can be caused by formatting differences between apps and devices.

Have a good day.

Hello VictoriaDaisy2218,

Does that appear only on the contact that your friend shared with you, or does it appear on other contacts as well? If you attempt to edit the contact, does it still appear that way?

You can find the steps to edit contacts on iPhone here: Edit contacts on iPhone

In the Contacts app, assign a photo to a contact, change a label, add a birthday, and more.
1. Tap a contact, then tap Edit.

Thanks!
