Remove the build installed by the Microsoft Store then use this link:

Hmm. I believe that feature used to rely on a service called iPodHelper. It is possible that Apple have removed it from recent builds of iTunes for Windows. It isn't a feature I use so I haven't been tracking it. If you want to try some other recent builds go to the bottom of Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - Apple Community for download links.

I'm not certain, but I think the feature that can launch iTunes on device connection may only be available when iTunes is installed using a direct download from apple.com rather than installed using the Microsoft Store.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately that hasn't fixed the issue either.
I uninstalled iTunes (and Bonjour Services), Rebooted, swept the registry and renamed any left over folders relating to Apple or iTunes, Rebooted again then rechecked the registry for any orphaned entries. I then used the link to download iTunes then installed it (and Bonjour) from that file. Rebooted again. Plugged my iPhone into the computer but wasn't given the option to open with iTunes so ran iTunes and went through the security permissions for my phone. Made a manual backup of my phone then ejected it, then rebooted, then plugged in my phone... same result, no autorun of iTunes.
I suspect it may need a registry hack but that's beyond my capabilities.
Thanks though.
Thanks for the reply. Apple.com points me to the windows store to download iTunes
You would also need to visit the device's settings and enable an option to launch iTunes when the device is connected.
