New Mac with Big Sur?

My MacBook died of old age and I need a replacement. But I don't want Monterey on it. Is getting a new Mac with Big Sur an option?

Monterey not available but it was available before I factory reset it So, I have an older Mac, right? My mom had 2 for some reason and she let me have one. It already had Monterey on it before I factory reset it for myself, and I had to do a whole bunch of complicated stuff when I was resetting it, and now it isn't showing up. One of the things I did was delete all of the old files in the system in the start up disk, and then it made me redownload yosemite rather than Monterey which was already installed on the mac beforehand. I believe it's a Macbook Pro 11. I am aware it's a fossil.

Can't get MacBook Air to update to Monterey... Hello From Australia, Long story short I borrowed a spare MacBook Air which had definitely had Monterey running on it, On top of that I had also used Bootcamp to install Windows. When I retuned itI copied the data I wanted to keep, removed my Apple ID & wiped it however I wasn't expecting it to revert to the os version it shipped with (10.13), Is that normal or have I messed up something when wiping it? Anywho, now it will not update to Monterey. It was able to install some newer versions of macOS using the App Store or System Settings>Updates but It's not wanting to do Monterey. I've tried searching the App Store & it won't show I've tried Check for Updates via system settings I've tried via Terminal with softwareupdate -l Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I'll have access to the laptop soon so I'll amend this with its model number & which macOS is installed.

Monterey upgrade for MacBook Pro mid 2015 I have a MacBook Pro Mid-2015 running Catalina 10.15.7. I previously tried to upgrade to Big Sur but it didn't work well, so I reversed it. I now find that Monterey is available for this machine. Will I have the same problems with Monterey that I had with Big Sur, or have the problems been sorted out? Also, how long will the updates to Monterey last for my computer? It must be vintage class by now. Thanks.

Generally, new Macs ship with the current macOS version, especially if that version has been out for 6 months or more.

If the New Computer comes with Monterey macOS 12 pre-installed - The computer can not downgrade to an older version of macOS.

The Apple Licence of Use will not permit this.

Outside of the Licence issue - the computer will see the Bootable Drive with Big Sur but will not allow the Migration period.

Even if one were to purchase a Refurbished directly from Apple they too would probably come with Monterey macOS 12

I just remembered that I have a bootable backup with Big Sur on it. That should work. I can start up a new laptop from there and install Big Sur.

I miss those days when the computer did what I want it to do instead of me having to do what the computer wants me to do. Back then it made sense to spend money for a computer.
