Hey Pfed87,
We'd be happy to help you get the most out of your battery. Which specific update are you referring to? You can check by going to Settings > General > About. If you're not yet running iOS 15.4.1, let's get fully updated by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If you don't have a backup yet, please complete one prior to updating.
Next, if you're already on iOS 15.4.1 or update and still experience issues, keep in mind that it can take 48-72 hours for your iPhone to adjust to the new software at which point your battery life should normalize based on your current max capacity.
If your battery's max capacity is 80% or less, we'd recommend replacing your battery. You can check your battery health by going to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
Also, check out the following resource for more help with checking your battery usage under Settings > Battery to determine what apps are consuming the majority of your battery to help you isolate where to make changes: About the battery usage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Lastly, we've also got a resource with more info to get the most out of your battery here: iPhone Battery and Performance
Take care!
