Have you installed the latest Canon print and scan (ICA) drivers for Catalina? Did you reset the print system so that the newly installed drivers are recognized? Have you followed up with Canon support?
If you cannot get the scan function to work, there is the alternative, paid VueScan Professional that supports this device without any vendor drivers. VueScan has a free trial.
This device is not supported by Apple's built-in AirPrint.

You are welcome.
I have owned VueScan Professional since 2010 and the abandoned Canon flatbed scanner that prompted that purchase is still in use today on my Macs running Big Sur and Monterey. I have never paid for a VueScan upgrade, and receive no benefits from Hamrick software for any mention of their product in these communities.
Thank you so much. I downloaded the ICA driver, but not doing any good. I used VueScan Professional to enable the scanning function and it works perfectly. Thank you for the solution
