Hi RonLaBarre,
It sounds like you have an issue with photos on your Mac. Are you referring to importing them using a direct connection between the iPhone and Mac and these steps? Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or PC
Have you tried restarting both devices and then trying the import again? If not, see if that helps, and feel free to reply back here if the issue persists.
Take care.
Thank you for the input. I tried restarting both devices as well as turning off and on the icloud features on both. I can see all of the photos on my iPhone 13 and can see all of them on icloud.com. But, the photos since December won't download to my Macbook - it just shows 'updating'.
Hi RonLaBarre,
Thanks for the additional information. Since the issue has started, have you noticed an interruption in your internet connection while it is downloading the photos?
Also, were the photos originally taken on your iPhone or did you get them on the iPhone a different way?
Lastly, are you attempting to download them to the Mac so they can be saved using the Mac storage? If so, how much available storage does it show you currently have?
Take care
Thank you for your response.
My MacBook has 29GB of storage remaining.
I believe my internet is stable. The problem doesn't resolve itself when the devices are on a different wifi.
Most on the photos that won't download were taken from the iphone, but not all. Some where downloaded from other people and some from Facebook.
I like to be able to see all of my photos on my MacBook. It is easier to forward them from the MacBook. Until late-December, this happened automatically between my devices and icloud.
Hi RonLaBarre,
Please ensure that both devices are up-to-date on the latest software version. For a newer iPhone that would be iOS 15.4.1 and for a newer MacBook Air that would be macOS 12.3.1 currently. If still not completing the update, please use Get Support to contact our teams for further investigation of this behavior.
Regards.
Hello RonLaBarre,
Based on the information and troubleshooting already performed, there seems to be an issue with your MacBook syncing with iCloud Photos.
On the MacBook, click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner. Click on System Preferences > Apple ID. Click iCloud in the left column. Is Photos checked? If not, go ahead and check it. If it is checked, uncheck it, and then check it again. This may reset the connection.
If you still are not seeing the photos on the MacBook, we would suggest that you reach out to Apple Support.
They will be in the best position to assist further.
Cheers.
Those are exactly the software versions showing for my iphone and MacBook.
