Of the many activities you can record your fitness outside is walking and hiking. But another activity I would like to suggest that Apple add is Backpacking and the weight of the backpack carried.
Does anyone know if Apple will add Backpacking to the list of additional activities listed to record fitness?
Right now I am using the Hiking activity, but when I backpack I carry at least 30 pounds, sometimes as much as 40 pounds when I go on a week long backpacking trip. I believe the current Hiking activity does not give enough active calorie credit for the time and distance being expended. Additionally the elevation that I am hiking in sometimes above 8 to 10 thousand certainly with a heavy load is not being counted enough for the level of exertion that I am expending.
