Issues with purchased songs on iTunes.

I have this issue where I buy songs from iTunes, but recently they started being saved in the "Media/Apple Music" folder, instead of the usual "Media" folder that they used to be saved at.

Now I can't use them in Final Cut for the videos I always used to make.

Have you enabled lossless audio in Apple Music - Apple Support? If so Music may be downloading high quality versions into the Apple Music subfolder. You would need to remove the current downloads, turn off the option to download lossless music, then download fresh copies into your media folder that you can use offline and in third party projects.

HLS media is the lossless media format that Apple Music uses for high quality streams and downloads. HLS stands for HTTP Live Streaming. These files won't be compatible with third party software. Check Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support and make sure that your recent purchase isn't hidden for reasons unknown. Your library could be connected to an Apple Music item rather than your own purchase. Once that is done remove the download from the library once more, or perhaps even delete the item from the library, particularly if you had added it from Apple Music before making the purchase. Now see if your purchased item will show and download in .m4a format.

So I have seen your answer to somebody's similar question, and when I tried that, then I restarted the app it worked couple weeks ago. Then today without changing anything it did the same on 2 songs I purchased. I tried enabling/disabling lossless, quitting the app, restart my Mac. Nothing seems to work. This never used to happen, and the last month I had this issue like 3-4 times. I wonder what's going on.

Attaching a screenshot of my settings in case I did something wrong.

Hmmm... I just checked the info of the file itself and it looks completely different than others I've purchased in the past.

Attaching 2 different screenshots for 2 different songs.

"First Class" is the one that I just got recently, and I can't use.

It an HLS file??

And it says "Open with: TV (default)" lol.

And if I double click it, the TV app opens but nothing happens....

Talk to Apple Support. If you've turned off the options to download lossless music then you should get standard AAC files when you download your purchases. I suppose a workaround would be a separate library where Sync Library is not enabled, which shouldn't be able to download the HLS copies, than manually import the new files into your other library. But that seems like a lot of work.
