problems updating the iPhone SE (2020).

When updating my wife's iPhone (via her MacBook Air) I got the message: an unknown failure has occurred (9)

0665-0000. When I selected the option iPhone repair modus, the code changed to the following: (9) 0609-0000 and again I was unable to complete the update. I only succeeded by using third party software (Tenorshare Reiboot.app). This is te second time this failure occurred with updating iPhone SE.

Why? What am I doing wrongly?
