The IMAC 24 has a 16a plug which obviously doesn't fit into the available sockets in my home office.
Is it safe to use a 6a to 16a converter?
If yes, any recommendations for which brand?
If no, then what's the solution?

Yes, these should be safe. You can usually find these types of adapters at your local airport. Also, please try Amazon which I am assuming is available in India.
If you bought the Mac in India, I'd think the seller also carries a recommended part you need.
Thanks much for the quick response. Yes, Amazon has a pretty vast selection and that's why i asked for brand recommendations - I guess it should be safe to go with any product with a 4+ rating on Amazon.

Yes, I did buy it in India.
Will call the store tomorrow and check. That's perhaps the fastest way to get my hands on one.
