My Mac is currently connected to my provider router, I am relocating it to my summer home. The router is not close to the desk area. Can I connect to my internet without plugging directly into router?

As long as the router supports Wi-Fi, you can connect: Connect your Mac to the internet using Wi-Fi - Apple Support.

If your new Wi-Fi doesn't perform well enough you can use two Powerline Adapters to provide an Ethernet connection over the house electricity wiring. I used this set up successfully on my old Mac Pro.
