Did you set this up? Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Apple Watch - Apple Support

Use Messages in iCloud

And then on the iPhone >> Settings and enable Text Forwarding.

Further and still on the iPhone check and make sure the Apple Computer is listed by Name and Enabled for this feature to function.
