Incorrect Apple ID for Watch

So I had a problem with my phone and ended up taking it to the store to get it reset. Now the phone is fine and I got all of my data back but now I am trying to pair my series 6 apple watch to it again. When I go through the pairing process it tells me my watch needs a software update and to do that I need to put in my apple id and password. I do so and it kept saying incorrect password (I know for a fact it was not). Despite that, I still go to my phone setting and I change my apple ID password (I have since done this 3 times). Seconds after changing my Apple ID password, and verifying it was working by logging into iCloud, the watch app still tells me the apple ID is incorrect. I don't know what to do anymore but it keeps saying "Apple ID incorrect, cannot use this apple id to unlock this watch". I am the only owner this watch has ever had so it was never paired to someone else, only me. Please help :(

It seems you're having some trouble with your Apple Watch and we can help.


Since you're having some trouble with getting the Apple Watch logged in, try removing it from your Apple ID using iCloud and then resetting the Apple Watch to pair:

About Activation Lock on your Apple Watch


Take the steps to pair after having removed the Apple Watch from your Apple ID and let us know if that helps you get it paired and connected to your Apple ID correctly again.

Hi Rigo_O86! Thank you for your reply! I tried your suggestions but my apple watch has already been removed from my apple ID using iCloud and I've reset the watch twice. I am able to successfully pair the watch but it doesn't let me complete the pairing because it is requiring a software update. To do the update it is asking me for my Apple ID and password but when I put it in it tells me my apple id is incorrect. However, I am able to use the same apple id to log into my phone and iCloud so I know it is correct.


I'd appreciate any more help you could offer!
