Privacy Mode / Do Not Disturb on My MAC not my iPhone

I want be able to separately control my MAC computer privacy settings than my iPhone. With new updates April 2022 when I turn do not disturb on my Mac it turns it on my phone and I don't receive calls. This is ridiculous. I want to work on my computer without receiving calls and messages on it while still having my phone is vibrate mode so I know if calls are coming in discretely. I have already turned off all banners, messages etc separately on the MAC but it still receives phone calls - LOUD ANNOYING RINGS NO MATTER WHAT SETTING I'M IN. I am a 20+ year user of Macs, and an engineer and this is terrible. I can't believe they have tied the phone and computer together like this.

Have you checked to see if the Share across devices option is active? System Preferences > Notifications & Focus > Focus panel

Down at the foot of the panel is Share across devices. If the tick is absent then Focus on your Mac and Focus on your iPhone should work independently.
