Internet connection iPad
A local network is playing havoc with my internet connection. The option ‘forget this network’ is NOT listed when I try to… remove it from my list. Any ideas what I can do?

You can only “forget a network” to which you have already successfully connected. Forgetting the network merely stops automatic connection without you needing to enter a password, or actively opting to reconnect with the network.
Networks that you see listed in WiFi “Other Networks” are networks that are within range of your iPad - and are not necessarily networks to which you can (or will need) to attempt connection.
In what manner are you having difficulties with your Internet Connection?
Neighbouring WiFi networks may be operating on overlapping WiFi Channels - and can cause signal interference that can reduce WiFi throughput. Similarly, neighbouring networks that operate on the same WiFi Channel (i.e., co-channel) can reduce network throughput - however, co-channel is usually causes less impact than overlapping channels. 2.4GHz WiFi channels are more problematic with signal interference, as there are only three non-overlapping channels (these being Channels 1, 6 and 11); 5GHz WiFi networks have more available channels and experience less interference issues.

choosing to forget will not make networks not appear on available wifi networks in the list of tablets or phones or computers with wifi support best you can do is to uncheck "ask to join networks" in settings-wifi
