My hard drive on my pc computer has about 350 g of memory used. When I try to use migration assistant it says it will take 21 hours to transfer the information on the computer to a new m1 apple.
Is something wrong?

Yes, something is wrong. The speed of a migration is dependent on the amount of data to be transferred and the speed of the transfer medium. I will wager that you are using Wi-Fi, which simply is too slow for these large transfers. Use a wired USB cable and it should be done within an hour, more or less.

Probably not. It does take some time to migrate 350GB of data, plus the speed of your PC will have an effect. As time goes on the total time could reduce.
It is NEVER a good idea to use Wi-Fi to migrate data. Are you migrating from a PC to the Mac or from an older Mac to a new Mac?
Wi-Fi is apparently fine for normal day-to-day downloads. But because of these upgrade files being so large, they present a problem with Wi-Fi. Often the file gets corrupted and then will not load.
I have both an old mac and a newer pc. The pc is what I use day to day and I would like to use it to transfer to the new mac. I will look to see if I need any different instructions to do that but do you have any advice.

Thank you. Even though I am supposed to have a fairly fast Wi-Fi connection I am sure the usb cable sounds like a much better idea. Thanks for your advice 👍

When I migrated from a PC to my first Mac what I did was to move all the data I wanted to migrate onto an External Hard Disk and then did a simple drag and drop. For example once I had moved my photo library from the PC to the HD, I simply dragged that Library into the phots app icon in the Dock of the new Mac. My thousands of photos were then migrated in one drag of the mouse.
