why appstore update button not working?

I was trying to update WhatsApp Desktop on my macbook pro, but when I click on the UPDATE button it turns into a loading icon for awhile then turn back into UPDATE button and thats it. Problem is WhatsApp app prompted to ask for update and AppStore cannot update it.

Anyone know how to solve this please help.
