Mail- Attachments - "View as Icon" option not existing anymore. - MacBook Pro 2021-14" - Monterey

My question is still open. I have tried previous suggestion, but it had not worked.

As I mentioned before: On Right-click or Control-click on an attached pdf file on mails the drop-down menu does not have anymore the option: "View As Icon". Instead it appears twice "Share".

See Screenshot:

Could somebody, please help?

Many Thanks!

Why not list what you have tried and is not working—this saves us a game of whack-0-mole

You can always compress a file/folder most anyhing before you attach it to mail, this is your only guarantee of an icon—if you do not want to see it.

your PDF> Control Click>compress

Result:

There used to be a Terminal Command to bring back the function to

disable in-line attachments:

defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 1

A newer command, if you add your Terminal to >System Preferences>Security&Privacy>Privacy>Full Disk Access

quite Mail and From the terminal.app command line you can copy and paste:

defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes

Dear Douglas

Many thanks for your tips. I've specially liked the compress file. I've forgotten to use for sometime.

I have tried the Terminal commands, and still the "View As Icon" option does not exist anymore for one page "pdf" document.

But now I noted something interesting. If I attach a jpeg file this problem does not exist, and I can choose to see it as Icon or "in Place".

Is that something related to Monterey? I have another Mac using Big Sur and this issue does not exist.

Best regards,

Carlos
