Chase Sapphire Reserve with Apple pay

I am trying to add a Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa to my payment options for Apple pay, but keep getting an error message saying the method is not supported. Every article here says it is. What is going on? How can I get help?

iPhone SE, iOS 15

Hello jhubley,

First, start by confirming that you are using a compatible device with compatible software. Here's a link to help confirm: Devices compatible with Apple Pay - Apple Support.

Is your iOS software up-to-date? If not, create a backup of your iPhone, then update the software. Here's how:

Did you reach out to Chase directly to see if that card supports Apple Pay? Apple advises you to check if your card is compatible with Apple Pay and to contact your card issuer.

Is your device signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID? If not, follow these steps to get signed in: Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support

Follow these steps to add a new card to your iPhone:

1. In the Wallet app, tap the Add button the add button.
2. Tap Debit or Credit Card.
3. Tap Continue.
4. Follow the steps on the screen to add a new card. If prompted, choose your bank or card issuer from the list or find them using the search bar.
5. Verify your information with your bank or card issuer. They might ask you to provide additional information or to download an app before approving your card for use with Apple Pay.
6. If you have a paired Apple Watch, you have the option to also add the card to your watch.

We hope this information helps you out.

Cheers!
