My iPad showing up as speaker option

As of the last week, out of nowhere, my phone started showing my iPad as an option when I’m trying to put it on speaker phone. I have go through the steps to confirm that “calls on other devices” is turned off but I do not know what to do from here to get rid of it. Because I have a little one running around or on my hip I don’t have the leisure to take the extra time to tap speaker instead of iPad. Again, this started suddenly without reason or cause. Please help
