Monterey update

Once again, I have updated my Mac Mini, only to find I have lost the ability to use my personal photos as a screen saver. Anyone else have this problem?

Lost Photos after Upgrading to Monterey I didn't have enough room on my MacBook before upgrading. I did a backup of my computer as well as copy my Photos App over to my portable hard drive. I also copied all of my videos and put them in a separate folder. After the update it no longer lets me get to my Photos App (has a circle with a line through it) and the videos I copied over are now all photos. Is there any way of getting my photos and videos back without going back to the older OS version?

Monterey upgrade I have BigSur 11.6.1 and am a bit scared of updating to Monterey. I hear people have had trouble with their Photos not being the same and being faded etc. Do I have to update to Monterey as I don't use my Mac for anything much apart from e-mails and web searching, Excel and Word. I do like my Photos and Apple TV and I don't want anything to change. I was very happy with the initial iPhoto and Catalina made a lot of changes to that and I don't want the same big change. Please help Thanks
