Using a VPN to access the Internet does absolutely nothing to enhance your privacy or security. Quite the opposite...


VPNs are intended to give you a secure connection over the Internet to a private network such as your employer or school, so that you can access resources on that network remotely.


All you do by using a so-called "public" VPN to access the Internet is to route all of your traffic through a single entity who can see all of your data traffic and can not be trusted to keep it confidential or secure.
