how do I delete duplicated photos on mac

Look at the photos in the All Photos view or the moments, where you are seeing depletes sorted by the capture time, side-beside and delete one of them. If the photos are not exact identical files keep the version with the best resolution. If the metadata or adjustments are different, spy metadata or adjustments to the photo with the best quality, if need be, before you delete the other version.

If you imported the duplicates by mistake and they are together in the Imports album, delete them from there, or if the duplicates are having other common properties, use these properties to search for them with smart albums.


Photos has no tool to help us to identify duplicates. There are some third party apps to help with this, but be careful. Some tools to clean a library from duplicates will damage it badly, and you could lose photos this way. Apple is warning against them: Using third-party apps to remove duplicate photos might damage your Photos for macOS library - Apple Support

We have to pick the keepers anyway manually.
