Disable track my AirPods

Hi there. My partner bought me some AirPods recently via her own Apple ID account. I paired them to my phone successfully. When I pair them to my phone I get a message telling me that the owner (which is supposed to be me but appears to be my partner, quoting her Apple ID) can see the location if my AirPods.

Three to four times a day we both get notifications about my AirPods being detected! I’ve switched off notifications on the Find My app. I’ve removed the device from the Find My app only to find it immediately comes back when I open my AirPods case. I also tried to follow the instructions on how to disable the AirPods and that doesn’t work either. None of the things I have tried have worked!!

Can someone please tell me how to stop these annoying notifications? I know where my AirPods are and I don’t need my phone to tell me that. And my partner definitely doesn’t want to know where they are!!

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hello,

Have your partner remove them from her Devices and Apple ID.

Have her use the Find My app on her phone and select Devices. Then select the AirPods, scroll down and select Remove This Device.

Then on your phone, perform a full reset:

Reset your AirPods

Good luck.
