'Auto-Join' will not stay OFF for several known Wi-Fi networks that I want to remember.

I am assuming the purpose of the 'Auto-Join' setting is that it would leave the Wi-Fi network configured on my device, but not automatically connect to it. Meaning if I wanted to connect to it, I would have to manually go to my Wi-Fi settings and select it.

However, I have set 'Auto-Join' to OFF multiple times for several saved Wi-Fi networks only for my iPhone to continue connecting to these networks. I have Spectrum home internet so I have saved the Spectrum public hot spot as I use it from time to time. My car has Wi-Fi with limited data so I only want to use it when needed. I want to keep my work Wi-Fi saved but want control of when my iPhone connects to it.

Anyways, I keep setting 'Auto-Join' to OFF for these networks only for it to toggle back ON. Minor annoyance but its been happening now for literally years now so trying to figure out if its a bug or if I am doing something wrong. Device is an iPhone 12 currently on iOS 15.4.1.

Thanks

iPhone 12
