Apple Watch screen bright is low

i just downloaded and installed the new operational software for my Apple Watch. Now the face of the watch is only at half brilliance or brightness. Going to my iPhone and using the brightness adjustment it is at full level it on the phone and on the watch it’s both said full level and yet the display on the watch is only I would say maybe 70% what’s going on?

ray1940,

Thanks for the follow-up info. We'd like to have you restart your Apple Watch, and see if this helps your issue. Follow the steps provided here:

Restart your Apple Watch

Should this persist after restarting, the next step will be to unpair the Apple Watch from the companion iPhone. This will erase the device completely, and return it to factory settings. Unpair automatically creates a backup of your Apple Watch data on the iPhone, so there's no risk of data loss. Once unpaired, test the brightness with none of the previous data installed. The steps to unpair are found here:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Let us know the outcome, and we can go from there if needed.

Hi ray1940,

To clarify are you comparing the brightness of your Apple Watch before the update vs afterwards, or in comparison to your iPhone brightness?

Also, under Settings > Display & Brightness on your Apple Watch, you should be able to manually control the brightness for the Apple Watch itself. If you turn that all the way up, is it a bit more what you're expecting?

Let us know and we'll continue from there.

Cheers!
