I had to take my iPhone 12 Pro Max in to apple because it was frozen on the apple screen for 12 hours.. they had to reset it and all my photos are lost.. there is still some things saved like contacts and emails. Is there anyway to get them back?

Or did you do this Set up and use iCloud Photos - Apple Support as per your upload comment, in doing so photos aren't part of the backup.

That is what the icloud/itunes back up is for to recover data, you do back up on a regular basis right?
