iPhone 13 - microphone cutting out sound during phone calls

Hi,

I’ve had iPhone 13 Pro for about 3 weeks now and I had a lot of people complaining about my sound frequently cutting out during regular phone calls and WhatsApp calls. I couldn’t even have a conversation with my doctor over the phone because of this issue. This was never happening on my previous phone.

I’ve tested the microphone using the memo app and by recording video with selfie camera and the back cameras. During these tests the microphone works fine. This issue only happens during phone calls.

this appears to be a well known issue that Apple isn’t addressing as there have been multiple threads about it.

How can we get this issue resolved? Are we supposed to still wait for a software update 6 months since release of this phone? Or will Apple repair the existing phones, replace faulty units or offer a refund?

This issue is ridiculous. My iPhone in its current state, is not a phone but a fancy and overpriced iPod.
