Emptying Trash and Junk folders on iPhone 11 Pro Max

I have tried 50 times following the instructions, going to the mailbox, selecting trash, or junk.

Then I've tried both deleting one at a time and using select all, delete, but I now have 4,000 in Trash.

It simply will not empty.

Tried synching with my iMax and going to trash. No change.

Restarting emptied the trash. So now I'll try the same to empty the junk folder.

Thanks!

Hi dianafromtalent,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! Sounds like there may be a connection issue happening. Have you tried connecting your iPhone to a different network? If you're using cellular, you can try a Wi-Fi network.

You can also try restarting your iPhone by pressing and holding either volume button and the side button until the power off slider appears. Drag the slider to power off and wait about 30 seconds. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo to power it back on.

Restart your iPhone

Once back on, you can check to see if this continues.

Also, be sure there are no software updates that need to be installed by going to Settings > General > Software Updates.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Be sure to back up your data before installing any updates. If you use iCloud to back up, you can go to Settings > Your Name > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Back Up Now to initiate one.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Hope that helps!
