Neither. Apple has no coverage for stolen Macs. They have no reason to replace or refund you. It's not there fault it got stolen.

Does your car dealer replace your car if its stolen?

Does your TV manufacturer replace your Tv if its stolen?

Does your shoe maker replace your shoes if they are stolen?
