I've connected them physically by using a "Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, BENFEI Mini DP(Thunderbolt) to HDMI Adapter" but I can't get the xBox display on screen.
I've tried a number of suggestions but fail every time.

You don’t. Target Display mode only works with Macs. There is no support for game consoles.
Thanks Phil and Rudegar, that's what I feared. I'm amazed someone hasn't found or created a solution. Should've stuck with MS.
